Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.
Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:10, 25-30
Mother’s Day is fast approaching. Mothers, be encouraged, for you are a great blessing to your family. When you accept God’s call on your life and wholeheartedly devote your life to your family, God is glorified!
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31
We of course all fall short at times, but be encouraged that your efforts are glorifying our Lord!
You are glorifying God when you clean spills off of the kitchen floor. You are glorifying God when you wipe runny noses. You are glorifying God when you wash clothes. You are glorifying God when you wake up in the middle of the night with sick babies.
When you begin to look at what was once mundane as done for God’s glory, your purpose becomes clear. God puts great significance on a mother’s work at home!
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their own husbands, to love their children. To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:4-5
God puts such significance on our role as a mother, wife, and homemaker, that it is written the word of God is blasphemed otherwise! This sounds quite different than what we are normally taught, doesn’t it?
Be encouraged today that God can take you right where you are, and by His grace, begin shaping you into a woman who’s price is far above rubies. Be blessed!
