Encouragement for Moms

There is Hope. The Legacy of Abby Smith

caababby

Last week a friend of mine shared this short video on her Facebook wall, and I would love to now share it with you.  This is the story of Abby Smith, a 24 year old who passed away this month.  Her story is beautiful, and it exemplifies the pure love and grace of our Lord.  Abby’s attitude is nothing short of inspirational, especially during this busy season of life.  I don’t know about you, but so often I let small, inconsequential things bother me.  Whether it be a child’s misbehavior, or a short-lived sickness, I find it easy to take my eyes off of Christ, and think about how “terrible” my current situation isIn the midst of Abby’s trial, her eyes stay focused on Christ, and she speaks of God’s continual goodness, and of His sufficient grace.

No matter where we are in life, we can learn much from Abby’s attitude and perspective.

God is good.

All the time.

God works all things together for good to those who love God.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

Although I know this verse by heart, do I actually live like I believe it?  Sadly, not always.  My prayer that no matter what storms come my way, my eyes will stay focused on Christ, and His goodness.

Mommas, are we running the race that God has set before us with endurance?  No matter where we may be, let’s press forward with hope, love and trust, while living whatever life that the Lord has called us to live for His glory.
