From the Ground We Came…

Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Genesis 2:7 (NASB)

I don’t know about you, but I rarely compare myself to a plant.  I mean, there isn’t much to compare, right?

I might have scoffed when I hear of people treating plants like they are some real, living thing.

But they are.  While studying French Aromatherapy, I’ve learned about the concept of “terrain.”

Simply put, terrain means “ground.”  Just like the soil outdoors is comprised of millions of tiny organisms and chemicals, so are we.  And just as plants come from the ground, so did we.  Our terrain is comprised of the totality of our systems.

Another fascinating thing that I’ve learned about is the similarity between the soil and our intestines.  Just like plants depend on the millions of micro-bacteria in the ground to function, we depend of the millions of micro-bacteria in our gut.  The importance of gut health is real, folks!

Anyhow, just like the soil can be “off,” and plants die, our terrain can be “off” as well.  And when our terrain is off, then we suffer!  Water effects both the soil and our own constitution in much the same way.

God is so good, and in His wisdom, He has given us many tools that we need to regain balance in our bodies, or terrain.  How cool is that!

One of these tools is essential oils.  I can’t wait to dive deeper into this topic with you guys!

Hi Nicole! I just recently watched one of your videos on why you wear skirts and dresses only. I’m pleased to discover that we also share an interest in essential oils! I’m new to Young Living, and excited to learn as much as I can. Thanks for setting up this website. I look forward to reading your newest posts!
