It’s time for another weekly glimpse!
In an attempt to hold myself accountable, I would love to share a weekly glimpse into our home from time to time. It is so easy for me to overlook the simple joys that God has so graciously allowed me to enjoy as a homemaker.
If you would like to follow along, please do! Feel free to comment about your week below, or leave a link to your posts.
This week I…
…am loving the weather, and fall, in general. We had a lot of fun celebrating Reformation Day by eating a Diet of Worms cake, playing Pin the Theses on the Door, and by having a Build a Mighty Fortress contest. We didn’t see these things as a Halloween alternative, but rather a fun way to celebrate the birth of the Reformation.
…am reading my Bible. Really, that is all I’ve had time for this week!
…am watching Amazon Prime on our new ROKU stick. We never had this option before due to lack of WIFI. It is wonderful, and we are canceling DirecTV. Hooray for one less bill!
…am praying the closing of our home in Georgia goes smoothly. It is starting to get real to me now, and I must admit I’m really sad to see it go. I’m praying for peace!
…am hoping that losing our house payment in Georgia will really propel us forward in our debt free journey. We should be paying off the remainder of my student loans and another $40,000 chunk of our home in South Carolina. Praise God!
…am looking forward to the wonderful Mary & Martha deals available this month. I view Mary & Martha as a ministry, and it is such a joy to be a small part in sharing God’s Word with others. Right now, with every $40 spent, you can choose one of the items pictured below for 50% off. I’ve already purchased two items for half-price, and am so excited to receive my new Lazy Susan and Grace & Gratitude Serving Platter. I would love to send you a catalog as the holiday season nears! Please just email me at randncrone@gmail.com, and I’ll get it in the mail shortly.
The Lazy Susan reads, “The Lord surrounds His people both now and forevermore.” PSALM 125:2 This is such a beautiful reminder!
…am using Lavender and Roman Chamomile heavily diluted topically when my one-year-old has tummy troubles.
…am diffusing Autumn Breeze by Plant Therapy once again. Will I stop diffusing this soon? Who knows, ha!
…am planning cleaning out my closet. There is still so much that I need to purge!
…am working on guarding my heart and home. To a large extent, I’m working on purging a good bit of Disney items from our home. This is difficult, because we have always loved Disney, and my husband and I even honeymooned there. This isn’t to say that we will never visit again, but so much of their media is focused on magic, girl power, or other humanistic ideas that I really don’t care for.
I hope y’all have had a lovely week thus far!
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
2 Corinthians 9:8 NASB
Thank you so much for stopping by! I would love to connect with you on Facebook. I’d also like to invite you to my Mary & Martha Facebook Page, and to my Mary & Martha website. It is a such a blessing to serve you!
Hi Nicole: I’m stopping by from the Mommy Moments link up. Thank you for giving up a glimpse into your home. I chose your link because its topic was very similar to the name of my website: welcome Home Ministry. I love talking about faith and family. I can really relate to what you’ve shared here concerning Disney. Did you know that thier Doc McStuffins show featured a homosexual parent? Also, they are planning to debut a show about two mommies- or two daddies – I can’t remember which. But we all should have seen it coming. Blessings to you!
Hi Tiffiney, thank you so much for stopping by! Doc McStuffins aired an episode with a lesbian doll family a month or two ago which helped lead to my decision. It’s all so terrible!
Hi Nicole! We are Roku fans over here too. 🙂 I know what you mean about Disney. Disney is SO big in my family (my in-laws honeymooned there, my BIL worked there), and we love some of it. BUT, just yesterday my husband and I were talking about how we aren’t a fan of the messages in Frozen and I know there are other things we don’t agree with. I had no idea about Doc McStuffins. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Stopping by from Modest Mondays
Thanks for sharing, Laura! Yes, Disney is so hard for me. We really enjoy a lot of it, but feel like a step back is necessary at this point. I hope you have a lovely week!
Wonderful glimpse! Thanks for sharing it with us on the Homestead Blog Hop! <3
Thank you for stopping by, Ann!
