If you followed my previous blog, you might know that I’m pretty passionate about the topic of modest dress. Over the past few years, I’ve realized that women are hungry to learn more about this topic, just as I am.
I stopped sharing modest dress posts for awhile, because if you think about it, it might not be the most modest thing to say, “look at my outfit,” even if it completely covers your body appropriately. That being said, sharing modest clothing choices is a way to be a light for Jesus in a world where immodest clothing is the norm.
I have been an almost exclusive skirt wearer for six years now. Through wearing skirts, I’ve found such joy. In fact, I believe there is even a Biblical reason to where skirts. Besides that, I think wearing skirts is a way to say that we embrace God’s design for gender in a world where there is so much confusion.
I have been playing with an online skirt tutorial for awhile, and I believe that my third try with adjustments is a winner! This style of skirt is my favorite. It is long, and A-line style.
This headband is one of my favorites since it doesn’t circle completely around my head. I love how this covering is simple, and yet elegant with a touch of lace.
What I wore:
Skirt: Handmade with clearance fabric from Hobby Lobby.
Purple Shirt with Buttons: Secondhand Gift
Brown Cardigan: Secondhand Gift
Flexi Clip: Lilla Rose
It is such a joy to dress modestly for my Savior. I even wrote a short book about the topic. I’m always growing, always learning. Right now, I’m studying the Old Testament along with Jewish traditions to deepen my understanding about modest dress. There is so much to learn!
I hope your week is blessed!
