Yesterday was spent cooking, cleaning, and running errands. I hurried through Tractor Supply, picking up feed, pine shavings, and the cutest “Scramble on Inn” sign for our chicken coop. I raced through Walmart, while grabbing something I needed for my Etsy shop and colored pencils for my son. I transplanted a fig tree, a blackberry vine, lemon balm, and cabbage plants. It was a busy day, and I was happy to finally sink into my bed!
Throughout the day, I contemplated my relationship with God. I often do. Not just in the quiet moments, but in the busy times, bursting with activity. I think when we are busy, we are least likely to be following Him because we are distracted. While busyness is good, (idle hands are the devil’s playground at times), distraction is bad. Sometimes walking in His will involves effort and concentration on our part.
And ladies, how I want to walk in His will! His will is safe, holy, and good. I’ve heard the saying that “the safest place to be is in the center of God’s will.” This is so true. As a homemaker, wife, and mother, what does this mean for me?
For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.
1 Peter 2:15
It is God’s will that we do good. In other words, obey His Word. Ladies, the Lord wants us to diligently love our husbands and children. He wants us find contentment right where we are, and serve our families with joy.

Finding joy while serving sometimes is elusive to me. I’ve found that keeping my mind focused on Him is what helps me most of all. We serve a kind and loving God who wants to help us.
Staying focused on serving God and our families will “silence the ignorant talk of foolish ones.” This might not seem accurate in the dark world we live in. But if God’s Word says it, I believe it. We become a testimony and a light when we walk in His will.

There is peace in His will. There is joy to be found in His will. Over the past month, I’ve been walking through a tough time with one of my children. But I’ve found that when I release the situation to God and walk humbly before Him, He has given me peace. He has given me hope! It really is amazing.
I hope to encourage you to seek His will today, sisters. It is a beautiful place to be.
