Happy Monday, ladies. It’s been quite a weekend. Our sweet little Moses turned one on Saturday! I’ve really enjoyed the break from thinking about the election, ha! Celebrating him has been such a joy.
(I bought this set of calendar blocks from Amazon.)
Our daughter Maddy is home on the weekends, and so I was very happy that she was able to be there for Moses’ party. We opted for a quiet celebration at home. Moses didn’t really understand what was going on, but the rest of us had a lot of fun! Most of his presents came from Amazon. I try to look for non-character related items when shopping for presents. I also usually prefer wooden toys over plastic, since they seem to last longer.
We ate cupcakes, a cake, and pretzels while Moses made a mess with icing. He was so funny, and wanted to get cleaned up ASAP, ha! I had hoped to find a helium tank to blow up balloons for him (which he loves!), but there were none to be found. I ended up buying a pack of balloon sticks which gave us the look I was going for.
(Moses’ woodland themed party decor came from Amazon as well).
He received enough money from relatives to hopefully purchase a new car seat. He is quickly outgrowing his current one. We are definitely good with toys and clothing! A relative gave us a HUGE bag full of gently used clothes for Moses a couple of months ago. I was very thankful for that.
Moses is our ninth child, and we just love him to pieces. God’s plan for each family is wonderful, varied, and beautiful. No two families look the same, and that is perfectly good. I never would have imagined that God’s plan for me would involve nine children. I never would have imagined that my desire would be to be a traditional keeper at home seeking a simple life.

But here we are. I’m so grateful for my life, and for sweet little Moses. Every life is a blessing and a gift. I’m in awe that the Lord has chosen me to be his mother. It is a privilege that I don’t take forgranted.
So happy birthday sweet Moses! 2020 has been quite a ride, and I’m so thankful you were here for it!
