Good afternoon, ladies! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m sitting here with a seed catalog, thinking and dreaming of spring. My little guys are adventuring outside while one of my oldest daughters is finishing up the paint in my youngest daughters’ room. Such blessings!
I have been praying quite a bit lately. Praying for the Lord’s will to be made clear this year. Praying for my husband and children. I’ve also been praying for my life to be a blessing to others.
There is such power in prayer. It may seem like a small act, but how amazing is it to come before the Lord with our needs.
And oh, I feel like I have so many needs right now. Don’t most of us? I have struggled with peace, but I want to be an example of a peaceful mama to my children. How I need the Lord to help me.
He is there to help us, and love us. I love seeing His reminders of mercy and grace throughout the day. There are so many small things to notice if we just look.
I’m thankful that 2020 was a year to slow down. I have been praying to see if this is what God wants from us this year, too. I think it may be. I think we are going to lean into home life, and work hard at strengthening relationships.
I plan to dig around and find one of our old books, “Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends” by the Mally’s. I read through this with my older children and I’d like to do the same with my little guys.
We are going to work on building our homestead and adding goats within the next few months. While we may slow down our outside the home activities, inside our home is usually bustling!
I’m thankful for my husband who has worked so hard on our fixer upper when he has the time. We almost have the entire exterior painted white now. Hooray! I’ve been praying for the Lord to help me show him that I appreciate him so much. It’s easy to take such things for granted, do you know what I mean?
The Lord has given us a model prayer in the book of Matthew:
“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV
First we praise Him. Then we ask for His will to be done before asking Him to fulfill our needs. Then we ask for forgiveness, and deliverance from temptation.
What a beautiful way to pray!
The word “amen” is Latin for “so be it.” Unfortunately, a member of the United States Congress didn’t fully understand this while opening in prayer a few days ago. Ladies, we need to be in prayer for our country like never before. Gender confusion is running rampant, and is an attack on creation itself.
I would love for you to join me in prayer for our families, and the year in general. Prayers for love and peace are headed your way!
