Support from Above

How was your day, ladies? Ours was nice…but each day is full of blessings if we look for them, aren’t they? This week has been especially lovely since my ballet dancer has been home during her winter break. Today my children spotted three trout swimming in the small creek at our cabin. How special!

I wanted to spend a few minutes writing about you…to remind you how precious you are in the sight of God. As wives and mamas we can sometimes feel overlooked, but rest assured that the Lord sees you, and the sacrifices that you make for your family.

For the eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth, so that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.

2 Chronicles 16:9

Is your heart completely His? If so, He strongly supports you. Once we have completely submitted to God’s will for our lives, it brings Him pleasure to support us.

Chazaq is the Hebrew word translated as strongly support in the NASB. It means: to strengthen, prevail, harden, be strong, become strong, be courageous, be firm, grow firm, be resolute, be sore.

The Lord wants to strengthen us, and to help us prevail. He will give us the courage to continue on, and help us to plant our feet firmly on His path.

It’s easy to forget this, and instead feel lonely and alone on our journey as wives and mamas. This is especially true for homemakers, who reside inside of their homes for most of the day.

But we must remember that He is there, loving and caring for us.

He is such a good Father. This is a simple illustration, but I was reminded of this when my daughter Makynlee was given a brand new black headband today. You see, she had mentioned wanting one a couple of days ago. I told her we would look for one soon. Today, one of my older daughters asked Makynlee out of the blue if she’d like a black headband…she was sent one as a gift along with an online order.

Makynlee was ecstatic! I was sure to let her know that God had seen the desire of her heart, and had literally sent this to our home for her.

He cares for us so much, ladies. How wonderful He is. I love to think about how His eyes see us, and how He strengthens us to serve our families. He cares for even small details, like a headband.

He clothes the lilies and cares for the sparrows. How much more He must care for us!

When I feel weak, He is there for me. And He is there for you, too.

I thanked Him for His support today. I need it so much. Without it, I wouldn’t get much done around here.

Let’s always remember to thank Him, and to abide in His love.

I hope you have a lovely day, ladies!
