Our 16th Anniversary

Goodness, life has been busy, hasn’t it? I’ve meant to post for at least a week now, but just haven’t found the time.

Life has been so good, and I hope to update you soon. We have made a deposit on two polled lamancha doelings, our garden fence is going up, and there are so many other fun happenings on our little homestead!

Today my husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary in between violin lessons and other obligations. He took the day off from work, which was so nice. We also have a fun weekend planned which includes antique shopping and visiting a local garden.

(My husband gave me flowers, along with a new vase to use as home decor later. He knows me for sure! I love the look of white pottery!)

We ordered an Amish-made log canopy bed in honor of our last two anniversaries, and I can’t wait for it to come in. It is beautiful, and I just love Amish made furniture. Our fifteenth anniversary was kind of a bust since our plans were cancelled when the pandemic began. I can hardly believe that we will soon have such a lovely bed.

Marriage is full of ups and downs, but through it all it is worth it. It is a blessing to stand by my husband through it all. And do you know what is amazing? As life has passed, we have become much more alike and usually have the same opinion about most things. We know each other, and can sometimes almost read each other’s minds.

(We went on a short hike today, along with most of our children. Moses loves to ride on my back in this carrier!)

I’m so happy for sixteen years, and am looking forward to sixteen more! The Lord was so good to bring Rusty into my life when I was a young woman with three young children. I have surely been blessed!

I hope that all of you are having a nice time with your families this month. I hope to stop in soon with more of a life update.

Blessings, ladies!
