Simple June Blessings

Sometimes I wish that time could stand still. Perhaps you know what I mean. My children are growing like weeds, and I want to do all that I can to enjoy them. Each day they are marching closer to independence, and I simply love being a mama of littles.

I’m trying to soak them, and the rest of my life, in. June has been a lovely month so far. We’ve experienced lots of rain, which has been a huge blessing. My garden surely needs it. I spent time out there just this morning, carefully pulling weeds and gathering turnips to feed to our chickens. We’ve determined that turnips are not our favorite. However, not all is lost. Any vegetables that we do not eat can easily be used as animal food.

Now that the rascal raccoon who damaged my garden is gone, there is more planting to be done. After discarding our turnips, I planted bush beans, corn, and mammoth sunflowers. The beans and corn are an experiment. I planted one raised bed with each to see how they would do. I’ve not been successful growing either of these veggies in the past. I spotted baby tomatoes and peppers this morning in a few of my other beds. Such a blessing, and so exciting!

I have been seeing more of my older daughter which is so nice. I’ve waited for summertime just for this. Not all is lost once our little ones grow up. Watching my daughter navigate adulthood is a blessing as well.

I try to find blessings in everyday things. Today I noticed how my wedding ring sparkled so beautifully in the morning light. It is just cool enough to wear a flannel shirt, which feels so soft against my skin. I made my first successful omelet this morning, filled with green onions from our garden and cheese. So yummy! My youngest son had the giggles during his bath, and my middle son painted such a lovely painting. I worked on an adorable owl outfit from my Etsy shop for an upcoming birthday. Blessings upon blessings.

What blessings have you seen in your life today? There are so many all around us, if we just look. I’m looking forward to the rest of June. It really has only just started!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Would you like to look for something special for the little ones in your life? Please stop by my Etsy shop or online store.

I tried to leave an earlier message but I think it got lost.
I just wanted to say that I appreciate you naming your blessings. It’s very nice.

Some recent blessings around our homestead include wild blueberries in abundance this year! We feel so excited about this simple treat!

I’m glad you decided to share this last week at the Homestead Blog Hop. Please come back anytime!
