A Homemaker’s Morning || July 28, 2021

July is slipping away, and it’s almost August. How can that be? I can hardly believe it. Our homeschool will be starting soon, and I’m very excited for the new year to begin. While homeschooling isn’t absent of challenges, I love being my children’s teacher.

I started my morning in the garden. I have a feeling that at least one Tomato Hornworm is evading me, and I’m waiting for blacklight flashlights to arrive in the mail so we can find those suckers. I harvested tomatoes and zucchini and pruned some dying leaves back before heading inside.

We made a spur of the moment decision to purchase a local kitten last night, and so I slipped downstairs to check on him. He’s a tuxedo cat whom my daughter named Toby. I hope he will learn to keep our occasional mouse intruders at bay.

Today was bill pay day for me, so I sat down for a few minutes to pay our internet and car tag bills. I then looked over our planned curriculum choices for the year and purchased the most important things. Our savings don’t look as good as I had hoped this month, so I’m going to stretch our curriculum purchases over several of my husband’s paychecks. We also have new instruments and extracurriculars to pay for next month.

After pulling a chicken from the freezer, I got to work on a couple of orders from my Etsy shop. The puppy and unicorn shirts came out looking good! I also researched a couple new possibilities for tea towel designs. Such fun!

In between these things, I spoke to my husband on the phone, talked to my children, fed Moses, and squeezed in a YouTube workout video. Not bad! I also set up my computer so my son could upload his latest YouTube video on his music channel.

It has been a good morning. I’m so thankful that our Father has shown me the beauty in being a homemaker. He has been so good to us. I hope you are having a lovely day with your family as well!

Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.
