My little girls have been waiting for this day for a long time! While I’ve been burned out from leaving our home so much this week, seeing their faces light up at the pumpkin patch and Babyland General Hospital was worth it!
I thought I’d write a Modest Monday post since I haven’t in awhile. Now, it doesn’t matter if you are “in style” as long as you are dressing for God. Feminine modesty is dear to my heart since I was once quite immodest. I picked up a few new shirts for my birthday last week, and I made my girls new dresses, so I thought I would share!

Orange and white striped shirt – Burke’s Outlet ( This was under $10!)
Denim skirt – Cato
Wide headband – Amazon
The fabric and ribbon for my girl’s dresses and bows came from Hobby Lobby. Their shoes came from Shoe Dept.
Cato used to have a fabulous selection of denim skirts, but not so much anymore. I purchased this skirt several years ago. I love the durability of denim.

Moses wasn’t so sure about the hayride at the pumpkin patch, but warmed up to it later!
Do you know of a good place to purchase feminine modest clothing? If so, please share in the comments below!
I hope you have a blessed week with your families, ladies!
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 4:6-7 NKJV
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Would you like to look for something special for the little ones in your life? Please stop by my Etsy shop or online store.
I have been making my own skirts with denim as just impossible to buy anything long enough here in the UK, the girls look so sweet in there dresses, i used to make my daughters as yet again everything was so immodest.
Thank you so much for sharing, Sue Lane! I have yet to sew denim. It is definitely something I’d like to try!
Beautiful dresses you made! You all look so great. When you have the chance, you should sew denim. They have denim machine needles that make it so easy. I have used them and they go through the material so easily.
Thank you so much, Darlene! Yes, I need to try that!
Lovely girls!
To find modest clothing, I honestly just love to thrift store shop! I find the best skirts there! It’s so hard to find good skirts anymore! Sometimes at Ross or Burke’s, but I’ve found that they just don’t hold up well.
Interesting that the denim skirt shown looks like one that they make from jeans with another pair of jeans as the insert. It’s made the same way. But originally, these skirts were made over jeans. I have two skirts like this and love them. I’m going to try to make one sometime, because you get a well-fitting pair of jeans, then make them over, so they are a perfect fit!
I’m thinking of my skirts, and I’d say 90% come second-hand. I have some cute dresses, that I’ve found at stores like Ross, though. Sometimes, modest is “in”.
Thanks for your post.
I do hope you’re sharing it this week at the Homestead Blog Hop!

Thank you, Laurie! What wonderful recommendations! I love to find skirts at thrift stores. Some of my favorites have come from there.

Maybe part of it is because I hate paying full price!
