Homemaking Day in the Life | January 5, 2022

Why hello there, friends! I’m trying to get my act together this January. Truly. I haven’t posted a YouTube video in awhile, and I also forgot to share this one with you. I must admit that I have really enjoyed a slow and cozy December. Sitting inside of my cozy home, just enjoying the season, has been lovely. The Lord created the seasons, and they are good. I believe it is a very good thing when our bodies embrace the rhythm of whatever season we are in, regardless if it be short days or long, cold days or warm.

In the video above, I used my Instant Pot for the very first time! I made fried rice, and overall I was pleased by how it turned out. Next time, I will let it cook for a little longer, though.

I also packed up several items from the “Little Blessings” section of my Etsy shop! It was a blessing to me to offer these $1.00 items to you! I plan to get several more items made and added to the shop later in the month. Such fun!

Additionally, I walked outdoors, and took a look at the siding my husband purchased for our new building. It is board and batten style, and we purchased it from a local lumber mill. At this point he has gotten the siding up, and friends, it looks spectacular! I am so pleased with it, and I’ll be even more excited once it’s stained and I know once and for all what the final product looks like. Also, it was super nice to buy local!

I hope you are staying warm and cozy, wherever you are. Our violin lessons are on hold until February 4th…plenty of time for this mama to relish the month of January, and everything that comes with it.

I’ve discovered that homemaking can be such a joy when we dedicate our days to the Lord, and do our tasks with our whole heart.

“I believe that a godly home is a foretaste of heaven. Our homes, imperfect as they are, must be a haven from the chaos outside. They should be a reflection of our eternal home, where troubled souls find peace, weary hearts find rest, hungry bodies find refreshment, lonely pilgrims find communion, and wounded spirits find compassion.” ― Jani Ortlund
