Homemaking Day in the Life | January 19, 2022

Being at home is one of my favorite things of all time. I love being with my family, and creating a home for them. Sure, life isn’t always always perfect, and my home isn’t always (or is never) perfect. As a 41-year-old mama and wife, I still mess up quite often. I’m definitely thankful for a family that forgives my shortcomings, and I’m encouraged to become a better helper to my husband and mother to my children each day.

Today I’d like to share one of my recent YouTube videos with you all. In it, I share a little bit about how the plants in my greenhouse are doing, progress on our shower renovation, and a snippet of homeschooling time with my five-year-old.

Right now, gardening is one of my favorite things to do, hands down. There is just something about being outside that makes me feel so close to God, and just…complete. I love learning more and more about how to steward the land He’s given us.

I have a super cheap greenhouse from Amazon, and I’m doing my best to make it last through it’s second season. Over the summer, I removed the cover and kept it in our basement to help with it’s longevity. I think it worked! It has a few tears in it, that I’ve repaired with tape. Super resourceful, right? (Ha!)

In my opinion, our bathroom renovation is going very well! My husband is very hard on himself and sees any minor flaw in the end product, but like I said, I love it! We are further along at this point than we were when I filmed this video. I have been giving shower updates in my Instagram stories.

My daughter Mabrey requested to be in this video, so I filmed her working with her number cards. I really enjoy working with my children, and having a front row seat when they learn something new. Each of our children are different, and it’s so interesting to see what learning style works best for them, and the subjects they like best. I definitely encourage Mabrey to have a lot of play time, and we are lightly starting to learn all of the basics. Some of my children were reading by four, but this isn’t Mabrey…she much prefers pretend play and is a tactile learner…which is beautiful!
