Modest Monday – Black and White Stripes + Our Valentine’s Day

Happy Monday, friends! We are nearing the end of a sickness my children brought home from group violin lessons, and I am so very grateful. Lots of rest, wholesome food, vitamins, and essential oils did the trick. Thankfully, I never came down with it. I was able to take care of everyone without feeling sick myself, which was a blessing.

Today I’m going to share the outfit I wore on Valentine’s Day with you. My favorite part about it was the shirt…it only cost $5.00 at a department store called Hamrick’s that I recently discovered. I love finding well priced clothing, especially when there is a need.

What I Wore:

Striped Shirt – Hamrick’s

Denim Skirt – Cato

Headband – Hobby Lobby

I’m excited because we are planning to visit Hamrick’s later today to check out their spring offerings. My fifteen-year-old daughter is going to come with us this time, so hopefully she will find a few new items for herself. They had a huge selection of $5.00 tops the last time we were there, and I hope we will find the same deals today.

Before I go, I would like to share a little bit about our Valentine’s Day. Our children had fun with their candy, balloons, and small gift. Our younger children received a stuffed animal, and our older children received something they would enjoy, like a blanket or gardening supplies. My husband surprised me with the items below. I’m super excited to plant the bearded irises. They are one of my favorite flowers of all time. I left a patch of them when we moved from one of our previous homes in 2017. I’ve missed those flowers, and my husband remembered that they were blue. He also purchased purple irises, which is my favorite color.

If you celebrated Valentine’s Day, I hope you had a lovely time. It feels like spring is now knocking on our door. Hooray!
