Happy Monday, friends! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend with your families. Things have been busy, but good, around here. I still don’t think I am used to the time change. I have been abnormally tired! It also could be because I have been working outside nearly every day and my body just isn’t used to it yet. It is good to spend time moving our bodies though, right?
Today I’m going to share not an outfit that I chose, but one my daughter asked me to wear. After jogging I had thrown on a comfy t-shirt, headband and skirt in preparation for the day. But my seven-year-old daughter walked into my room, asking if I could “match” her maroon plaid dress. She knew that I had a similar shirt. How could I say no? I threw it on over what I was already wearing.
Once upon a time, I might have been concerned that what I was wearing might not match. I’m not that girl anymore. I think age helps us understand the important things in life more clearly.
So while I did not match, I made my daughter smile. This type of connection is more important than matching!
What I Wore:
Shirt – Tractor Supply
Skirt – Amazon
Headband – Amazon
It was raining cats and dogs on this day, but there was a small break in the clouds between violin lessons. I drove to a nearby park so everyone could stretch their legs for about 20 minutes. We walked laps beside a creek and around a playground. Since we were the only ones there, it was so nice and peaceful!
I hope you are encouraged today to not worry about fashion so much. I did wonder if I should even share this “outfit” today, but I think it is important for all of us (myself included) to remember that reaching the hearts of others is more important than what we wear. As long as our clothing is God honoring, of course!
I hope you have a nice day, friends. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. If you would like to learn about becoming a Member of Redeeming Home, please click here.
