Happy Sabbath, friends. I hope this day is a beautiful day of rest for you and your family!
While restful to me, unfortunately my husband is working today. Later, our two baby goats will be headed to their new home in Tennessee. This is bittersweet for me. I’m happy that they will be going to a good home, but I’m sad to see them go.
Lately, I have been pondering about the direction of our home, and how I would like for my family to feel while inside. I want them to feel loved, nurtured, and protected. I want our home to be a quiet place of rest for them.
The Sabbath is a lovely time to make it just that. I enjoy turning worship music on through the television as we go about our morning. Hopefully our home is nice and clean from our “Home Blessing” time the day before. A clean home just makes me feel more at rest. When there is nothing pressing to do around our home, I’m able to rest much easier.
Our Sabbath mornings aren’t always like this, but they sure are wonderful when they are!
There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4:9-11
I also like to take some time to read God’s Word. His Word is life, friends! This puts my mind in the right place to serve my family. I need to be reminded to deny myself and to put others needs before my own. This doesn’t come naturally to me, I’m afraid.
I also love to spend time outdoors on the Sabbath. I feel so close to the Lord while in nature. I sometimes ponder how I can be a better steward of the land that we’ve been entrusted with. Some lovely ideas have come to me on the Sabbath.
While sometimes difficult, this is a good time to put the cares of the world aside to concentrate on our families and on God. I need to forget about that unfinished project, and instead, keep my mind focused on the most important things.
This is a good time to put down our phones if they are a distraction to us. Sometimes social media can be encouraging if we are following the right accounts, but it can also put a stumbling block before us. If looking at our phones makes us discontent, then we need to put them down.
I hope you have had a lovely week friends, and enjoy this day just the same. While I’ve been super busy around my home lately, I have felt led to write more on this blog this week. I hope the posts have encouraged you in some way. You can find them here:

Sometimes I hesitate to write about my faith because I just don’t feel worthy to do so. I am far from perfect, and I fear that writing about my faith in God will paint a picture of myself that I can never live up to.
However, I know that this is a lie from the evil one. If the Lord has put it on my heart to write about Him, then it is a good thing! Please know that I am a very imperfect person who is loved by our Holy and Perfect Father. And that is enough.
Many blessings to you!
