Hello, friends! I wanted to stop in to let you know that I hope you are having a wonderful Father’s Day.
I do not have a relationship with my own father, but I am excited to spend the day with my husband. While he isn’t perfect (is anyone?), he is perfect for our family.
I am thankful for a husband who truly puts his family first. He is always willing to lend a hand, and he rarely does anything for himself. He would rather spend time with his family then away with friends.
I am thankful for a husband who believes children are a blessing, and who has been open to having a large family. Some men aren’t, I’m afraid. I would have been heartbroken if he wouldn’t have been on board to have all of our children. Being the mother to my nine children is one of the greatest things in my life!
I’m thankful for a husband who likes me staying at home with our family while he leaves for work. He is happy to provide for our family while I manage our home. It is a beautiful arrangement that works!
I believe it is a good thing to praise our husbands publicly. I think it probably blesses them to know that they are loved and appreciated! Father’s Day is a good time to do it, along with every other day of the year.
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who shames him is as rottenness in his bones.
Proverbs 12:4
Friends, I want to be an excellent wife! Sometimes it might seem good to talk about our husband’s faults to others. But when we do this, we are as rottenness in his bones! How terrible!

Once we are married, we become as one flesh. So not only are we rottenness to his bones, we are as rottenness to our bones when we bring shame to his name.
Instead, I want to be a crown. I’ve discovered through Scripture that once we humble ourselves, then we are exalted. If we are humble, loving wives who care for our husband’s well being before our own, then we are well on our way to excellency.
Let’s not bring shame to our husbands. Only goodness.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Happy Father’s Day to all of the men in your lives!
