Leaving Disney Entertainment + Pride Month Thoughts

What a morning it’s been. I misjudged how long my sourdough needed to rise, so I was in the kitchen at 5 am today to make sourdough cinnamon rolls. I had been tossing and turning all night, and I figured I might as well get up. At least then I was doing something useful with my time. My husband would be blessed by the cinnamon rolls, too!

One of the reasons I didn’t sleep so well is because my husband showed a news article to me right before bed. Now, I try to stay away from the news. I’ve discovered that news stories often make me feel sad, and there is usually nothing I can do about the situation. Besides pray, of course. It does bring me comfort to know that the Lord is near to me.

I’m going to link the article I saw here. It is about a new Disney film called Lightyear, which supposedly has a homosexual scene. Not surprising. We cancelled Disney + some time ago, and have pretty much decided that we do not want to give that company our business in any way, shape, or form.

This is what the person who plays the voice of Buzz Lightyear said about those who oppose the scene in an interview:

“The real truth is those people are idiots,” Evans said during an interview with Reuters Television.

“There’s always going to be people who are afraid and unaware and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs. I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward and embrace the growth that makes us human.”

While I don’t appreciate being called an idiot, what saddened me most about the article is that Muslim countries are banning it, but Christian countries are not. I do not understand how “Christianity” has come to this.

We have slid down a slippery slope, where entertainment is more important than godliness. Of course there will be some that take a stand against it, but most of us will continue to funnel our dollars to Disney and other entertainment companies just like them.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like “Pride” month is difficult to live through. It is getting bolder and worse each year. How we’ve accepted this as a culture is beyond my comprehension. I will be so glad once it is over.

Muslim countries don’t play when it comes to this. But ours is fully involved.

Our nation is not doing so well. A country who turned it’s back on God cannot be blessed by Him.

We must continue to teach our children about real truth and love from the Scriptures. It also would be a good idea to thoroughly screen all entertainment that enters our home.

I would like to leave you with a few Scriptures that Garlands of Grace compiled together on their Instagram account. If you are walking in these sins, know that our Great God loves you so much. You can repent! But as a mama, there is no way that I can teach my children that sin is okay. This is out of love for them since my hope is that they will one day inherit the kingdom of God.

“But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.” -Mark‬ ‭10:6‬ ‭

•Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.- 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.-Romans 1:24-32
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…-Acts 3:19
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.-1 John 1:9

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, friends. While I know this post isn’t the most encouraging, please remember that we have great hope if we truly trust in Jesus/Yeshua, turn from our sins, and follow God. He is so good, loving, and faithful.

Girl yes! I 100% agree with you! Honestly most Christians these days are not real ones. Jesus said you’ll know them by their fruit and if any Christian is okay with any of this they should question if they really are who they say they are. We’re truly living in the last days. I care more about being ready for Christ than I do entertainment. I never agreed with Disney+ just seemed like a money grab. I just bought the DVDs and if I missed some new show oh well. We even stopped buying anything Disney for our kids. We love star wars but refuse to buy any star wars toys, clothing ect. Reading what that man said makes it pretty easy to keep boycotting then because I would never support anyone like that. They are just digging thier pits even deeper and I’m good with that! I have a T shirt from the Ark Encounter that says “taking back the rainbow 🌈” it has the Genesis scripture on the back. I could feel the looks I got but I don’t care. I won’t be ashamed of Him and His word. Let them be bold! But we should be even bolder! Much love 💕

Well if Mr.Evans feels that way, then I will be happy to be referred to as an “idiot”. An idiot for the Lord! Disney has gone down the tubes. I used to love Disney when my daughters were little but now I will not knowingly buy anymore Disney or Disney related merchandise. Sadly I’m the only one in my family who has this conviction.
I want the Lord to return soon but I want all my loved ones including friends to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus.

Same here! I think the last dvd we bought was over two years ago! We are the only ones we know that see what’s truly going on. But we are always warning them. It’s sad sometimes to watch people choose what is evil because they don’t understand it could lead them astray even those who are Christian can end up walking away from the Lord because of actively choose the side wickedness. Because God holds no prisoners. Salvation is eternal you can come back anytime, but He’s not going to force you into heaven when you have been living happily in sin and doing everything that is against Him. Keep praying for your family and continue being the example of light and truth. God bless you sister!

Great post Nicole! Didn’t raise my kids on Disney either. I have a Gen Z and two Millennials😊 and back then in the 90’s everyone thought that I was “crazy,” and a little “extreme” 🙂 Lol! But it worked out.🌸
