Homeschooling is Good for My Heart

Happy Thursday, friends! I can hardly believe that it is already August. This year is just flying by. Before long, we will experience all of the fall things. How exciting!

Today has been a nice restful day before we start our school work for the 2022-2023 school year. I think we have everything ready, as long as I find the time to pick up a few notebooks and pencils this evening. I was able to set up Teaching Textbooks for two of my children this morning, and we tested it out. It is working well and it appears that we are good to go!

While homeschooling isn’t always easy, I love being a homeschool mama. It is good for my heart. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is God’s will for my life.

When you are walking in the Lord’s will, such peace will come. I’ve learned this is definitely the case when it comes to homeschooling. During my nineteen years of homeschooling, I’ve seen the hand of God working in my children’s lives. I’ve also seen Him working in my own life! He has helped me to become more patient and kind through the years. I’ve learned that pouring into the lives of my children is more important than anything else I could do for myself. So much more.

It does my heart good to know that I am providing the best educational experience for my children that I can. I truly believe that. I am not perfect, and definitely make mistakes. But I know that our home is the best place for my children to spend their time. The curriculum available nowadays makes homeschooling easy! Yes, it takes time and diligence. But there are many programs available where everything is laid out for us mamas. We can do this, friends!

Watching my children grow educationally firsthand has been pretty amazing. It has helped me to see the grace of God firsthand. I have seen His faithfulness in allowing a mother like me to help my children learn.

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

Deuteronomy 7:9

I truly believe that it is the duty of Christian parents to give their children a godly education. If we are doing this through homeschooling, He will be faithful to help us to do this if our motivation is to glorify Him and to follow His commandments.

If you are a homeschooling mama, remember that God is holding your homeschool in His hands. He cares for you and for your children. He will strengthen us as we seek to teach our children diligently.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope that you have a wonderful day with your family!
