Happy Sunday, friends! I wanted to pop in for a moment to share about some of our weekend. It has been such a good one, and I want to thank the Lord for His blessings.
Life isn’t always perfect. I have a tendency to easily worry about things, and I do have a few stressors in the background of my life. Despite this, the Lord is good! I hope to encourage you that we can find simple blessings in our life to enjoy, even when we feel off balance. He is my hope and the Giver of everything good in my life.
This weekend we decided to go ahead and pick up seven new pullets from our local Tractor Supply. And friends, they have brought so much joy to my children and me! We purchased four Barred Rock, and three Americana chicks. After much deliberation, we have named them Petunia, Pearl, Pudding, Piper, Pepper, Popcorn, and Annabelle. Quite the names!
Last night we realized that our heat lamp stopped working. Thankfully, we quickly found another one in our basement, but I was worried the rest of the night. I woke up every two-three hours to check to make sure the light was still on. I felt like I had a newborn baby again! I am a bit sleepy today, but the chicks are thriving so far. The kids just love them, and it has been so much fun watching them interact with them.

My husband’s birthday is on Tuesday, so I have been preparing for the day. He requested that I make Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls with thick Cream Cheese Icing. I have everything ready to go. I fed Sally my Sourdough Starter, and she is getting bubbly. Tomorrow I will get started on the dough, and then will finish up on Tuesday. Sourdough takes a while to make, but it is so worth it. I’m also very excited to celebrate my guy!
Yesterday he took me out to eat Mexican food and to a park. We usually eat Mexican food when we go out because it is very easy to eat plant based this way. I eat plant based, while my husband does not. Surprisingly, he tried Vegetarian Fajitas after I sang their praises for awhile, and this is what he orders as well now. They are fantastic!
It pretty much started to rain as soon as we arrived at the park, but that is okay. The drive was beautiful. Oh, how I love to ride through the countryside! I love to see farms and old homes. They are so interesting to me. It was a blessing just to see a bit more of the area.
Finally, my husband started to make a linen closet for me today. A linen closet! Friends, we have no good place to put our brooms and vacuum cleaner, and all of our blankets and sheets are currently stored in my clothing closet. I am so excited about this development! My husband works so hard for me, and I appreciate him so much. I’m so glad that the Lord gave him to me.
I guess that is it for now. I hope that you look for the blessings that surround you everyday. The Lord is so good to us. He is the Author of everything good.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. May the Lord bless you.
