Hello, friends. The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful day. I’m just now finding the time to sit down and catch my breath. Most of my days are busy, and this one was no exception.
I like to share my days here from time to time to encourage you that we are all in this together as homemakers. There may be a lot to do, but it is a blessing to do it!
This morning I woke up bright and early, and got ready for my morning jog. Before stepping outside, I checked real estate listings on my phone for a couple of minutes. We are hoping to purchase a piece of land someday, but so far prices aren’t cooperating.
After jogging, I watered my garden. This used to feel like such a chore, but it wasn’t too bad today. The weather has gotten cooler, and most of my summer garden is finished for the year. I also picked cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers to bring inside. I will have to harvest okra later today, since I forgot my scissors inside.
After returning inside, I showered and fixed my youngest son’s breakfast. I then started to unpack our fall tote of decorations. September 1st is the perfect time to do this, in my opinion.
Oh, it was so much fun to decorate our home for fall! Autumn is definitely my favorite season. I’m so grateful it is nearly here once more!
(Fall decor + the new closet my husband made for me.)
I then started to help my two youngest students with their schoolwork while loading our dehydrator with cherry tomatoes. I haven’t dehydrated tomatoes before, and I hope they turn out well.
I got vegetable soup in the crock pot, and fixed a big salad for the bulk of my lunch. My kiddos munched on the “fudge” I made yesterday that totally didn’t set! I stuck it in the freezer, and they were happy all the same.
After a couple hours of schooling, I prepped rolls for dinner. They are now rising and will go into the oven soon.
After dinner, I hope to get back into the garden to clean up a few things. I have cabbage, broccoli, and collard green starts that are almost ready to plant.
It is such a blessing to stay home with my family each day. I’m so thankful for a husband who is on the same page with me regarding this.
I hope you have had a blessed day too, friends. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16
