I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.
Psalms 145:1-3 NKJV
Good morning, friends! The day has dawned, and we have breath in our lungs. It’s a good day to bless and praise the Lord!
Blessing the Lord is more than just talking about Him, while of course that is good, too! Blessing the Lord means dedicating our lives to Him, and walking in His will. It means doing what He wants us to do.
When my children are obedient, it brings me such joy. It makes our home run smoothly, and it gives me hope that they are growing into people who will continue to make good choices in life. (Of course there is a difference between true obedience and outward obedience only without a committed heart. But that is a different topic entirely).
Yesterday I asked one of my children repeatedly to stop throwing a pillow in the air. When I left the room, what do you think happened? You guessed it. She threw the pillow in the air again, and it knocked over a pitcher of water. What a mess!
In the same way, we make quite a mess when we live our lives without thinking about what God would want us to do. We are not blessing or praising Him when we live for ourselves.
He wants all of us. Every little bit of us.
We can praise and bless Him by loving our families with our whole heart and caring for them well. We can praise and bless Him when we take Scriptural teaching seriously, and apply it to our lives.
I’m so thankful He has given us today to do just that.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Let’s remember to serve our home and family well!
