Sometimes I am Not Content

What a week it has been! It has been fairly normal for us, but I’ve had a lot on my mind.

Sometimes I just need to evaluate my life, do you know what I mean?

Am I walking in the will of God?

Am I serving my family well?

Am I being diligent in my homemaking efforts?

Sometimes the answer to these questions is “no.” In my 42 years of life, I’ve realized that it is easy to get off track if my mind isn’t totally focused on God.

I usually notice that my focus needs to focus back to the Lord if I lose my feeling of peace and contentment. Spending time on the internet comes with lots of opportunities for distraction! I always spend my time there with the intention of taking in and sharing lovely things. But especially on social media, things that breed discontentment might catch my eye.

Today, I’m regrouping. I’m asking the Lord to be my all in all, and to help me focus only on Him.

When I focus on Him, everything else in my life will fall into place beautifully. I don’t need a mansion from selling Plexus. I don’t need a 50 acre farm. All I need is Him, and the blessings He has chosen to give me.

If I have food on my table, a roof over my head, and a family to love, then I have been blessed beyond measure. He has given me so much.

This week I’ve spent so much quality time with my children. I’ve been able to prepare for a birthday, homeschool them, and tell them that following the Lord is the most important thing they could ever do. I have a husband who loves me, and a cozy home that I can make beautiful for my family.

What more could I need?

I’d like to encourage you (and me!) to focus on the Lord and His goodness today. He is so very good.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you have a blessed weekend.
