Good morning, dear reader. I hope you are doing well! The Lord has done so much for us, and I’m very thankful for a new day!
Yesterday was good, but quiet. We woke up to rain, once again. I slowly started my morning routine, along with a few other things. Friday is our usual “home blessing” day, and I like to do more cleaning than usual. I worked on the floors and organized the kitchen. I also cleaned our bathrooms.
My husband was home from work, and he worked on some laundry. He also got a bit more of our new covered patio done. The next step is the tongue and groove ceiling. Oh, I can’t wait to see what this looks like.
While the dreary weather darkened the indoors more than usual, the day felt nice and cozy. I love this type of day!
Since we were together indoors more than we are used to, a couple of arguments occurred between my children. After a little bit of this, I had enough. After all, words are meant to bring life! I had a little talk with them, and thankfully they are now happily playing together.
While my home isn’t perfect, it is probably my favorite place to be. It is the most “me” place on this planet. It is warm, comfortable, and I am surrounded by my family. The projects that I have started around the house make me smile. Right now, my garden beckons each time I step outdoors. I am so thankful for these things!
(My garden last summer. I am so excited for the days to come!)
Sometimes I am tempted to look back, and wistfully remember the other homes I’ve lived in. I miss the good times and memories. But thankfully, the Lord is continuing to write our story right where we are. I pray over my home almost daily, and I can truly feel God’s presence here.
I hope you have a beautiful weekend, and think about some of your very own home blessings. Our homes become sacred family spaces, and I’m so thankful for that.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, friends. Let’s remember to serve our homes and families well!
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!Psalm 107:1
